Established April 26, 2011 to honor the memory of Officer Kilcullen, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving University of Oregon or Northwest Christian University student passionate about serving their community. The first recipient of the Kilcullen Memorial Scholarship is tentatively scheduled to be selected and awarded in the spring of 2012, with disbursement scheduled for September 30, 2012.

The Officer Chris Kilcullen Memorial Scholarship Fund is currently set to become an endowment scholarship fund. An endowed scholarship is one in which the principal remains intact and only the interest is awarded each year. The Oregon Community Foundation recognizes an endowment scholarship after the fund reaches $50,000. At that point, the scholarship will be awarded annually in perpetuity.
